How to Get Quality Backlinks to Your Site the Evil Way
There is the good way of doing things and there is an evil way to do the same thing – it might even yield better results. Link exchange is an excellent way to get a backlink to your site and if the blog owner places your link sitewide it yields more value.

The recent clampdown by Google worsens the situation. Not many blog owners are willing to exchange links – at least if you want a link back, he’ll put it somewhere in the subpages.

Nevertheless, exchanging links manually is time consuming! I tried once before and only 30% of the people whom I have contacted provided a link back – the rest just play dumb and STILL enjoy a link from me.

Still, there is an EVIL way to get quality backlinks to your site:

1. If you are targeting a single blog and wants quality links to your site use LivePR to check the PR of internal pages of the site.

*no screenshot due to Google PR fluctuation today*

2. Wants similar backlinks from successful sites such as Problogger, Shoemoney, Techcrunch, use iwebtool's backlink checker to check the entire backlink of the site.

3. Just go to the webpage that has a PR and drop a comment.

Now this evil way has its pros and cons and it might work or it might not. Some blogs have set their comment system to add a re=nofollow tag to the links/URL. If so, Google crawlers won’t follow the link but you might still get some traffic from the article through your comment – so it’s still a win-win situation.

According to iwebtool, I have already amass 5,554 backlinks :) I have only another 12,000 more to go to match Problogger.

PS – The tools here might not be 100% accurate, nothing is right? But it does serve its purposes, more or less.

PS2 – Don't go all excited and start spamming their comment box! Once you get banned by Akismet, you can't do this anymore!

TechCrunch Speculates ETrade Bankruptcy and Paid Posting Networks Stop Using Mass Payment?
I got a shock of my life when I read one of TechCrunch’s post written by Duncan Riley speculating that E*Trade might head to the deadpool. Nevertheless, I used E*Trade’s system to check out on their stocks and their share prices dipped to an all time low of $3.50 per share. This is the first time in 5 years that their shares dipped this low. I shot to the nearest ATM to withdraw my cash just in case the speculation was right. Take a look at the screenshot below on their share prices:

Etrade Shares

Today, I checked on their stocks again and luckily it was back up to $5 a share – a HUGE relief for me. I have been using E*Trade for quite sometime now and so far it’s an A++ service.

You can follow up the latest news on E*Trade by Google news search or read Duncan Riley's post on Techcrunch here.

On the other hand, I noticed PayPal has been deducting service fees from my incoming transactions for the past 2 days. It seems that according to the author of MyOrganicIncome.com, some of these paid blogging programs such as PayPerPost, Blogsvertise, etc have stop using mass payment – resulting a small percentage of the payment being deducted as a service fees. You can read MyOrganicIncome’s post here - there’s a guideline on how to downgrade your account from Premier to Personal Account.

However, when I check my PayPal today and none of my incoming payments were deducted anymore. Take a look at the screenshot below:

Rally by Oppositions Turned Ugly in Malaysia
Malaysian FlagI caught a glimpse of action on what happened on Saturday, 10th November 2007 at SeayKopitiam.com. The roads were clogged with cars – luckily I didn’t have any urgent matter to attend to. I believe that the owner of the site is an American who lives abroad and not a Malaysian. I think that it’s a fabulous post by Seay/Jamy but I just can’t seem to agree on some of the comments by he/she. For example,

1. NOBODY is being oppressed by ANYONE here in Malaysia. Everyone has a fair chance of voting every 5 years and every vote counts. It’s not like the Chinese or Indians are beaten everyday and their properties/cars/home are confiscated by the government or probably the government feels like doing a genocide because ‘they feel like it’ – NOTHING like that ever happened before (at least in my lifetime). In fact there are lots of wealthy Chinese and Indians and Malays living happily in Malaysia and NONE of them are being killed because they are wealthy or because of their race.

2. Malaysia will never be like America – You got that right. I don’t think that we will be anywhere near US in terms of economics, military might and quality of life. At least we have a vision to bring our nation to the next level.

3. Indonesian Chinese are being oppressed – Like I say, there are no senseless killing anywhere in the country (this is MALAYSIA, not Indonesia, it’s two different country). No genocide, no people strapping bombs on themselves and blowing everything up into bits and pieces – NOTHING

I know you love America – it’s a great country and I agree with you (I read and watched a library full of your history and WW2 all my life so don’t underestimate what I know). But so far, I’ve been living here for 26 (coming 27) years and all these years have been really peaceful. There are no war, no coup, no natural disaster – it’s really a great country.

But what I know is that people still think Malaysians are living in a jungle and they can’t seem to even point out where Malaysia is on the map. What you see and what you think might not be necessarily true… rather than looking at videos on YouTube I rather challenge you to come live in Malaysia and tell me what you think?

At least I am one happy Chinese Malaysian. Malaysia Boleh!

BS – Just can’t stand people branding Malaysians as barbarians – You don’t even live in this country!

Disclaimer: During the publication of this article, I am not in favor of any political parties in Malaysia nor to cause distress to anyone. There are no racist agenda - just to point out how I feel being a Malaysian.

My Quest To Tap On The Power of Sex! Let Google Unleash the Fury
Sexy Milla JovovichSomehow, I believe that there are still doubts that sex does work when it comes to attracting traffic. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not the pioneer of this nor do I have huge success over the matter.

I have decided to increase my crummy unique hits over my website from 80/90-ish uniques per day to possibly 1,000 uniques by Christmas. My tactics –

1. Change my site’s title from ‘Michael Woo Business Ideas Tech Make Money Online Malaysian News Blog’

TO

‘Michael Woo Business News Make Money Online Malaysia Sex Blog’

I have decided to forgo the word ‘Tech’ because it has no significance when it comes to search engine traffic. I’m targeting ‘Malaysia Sex Blog’ traffic and hopefully Google will list my site as number 1 – there is no direct hit on the number 1 spot yet by other blogs.

2.Delete MichaelWoo.net from my current MyBlogLog account and create a new account with a nice sexy picture. If you don’t believe that I have got 3,000 page views, take a look at the screenshot below (I got more than 3,900 page views)

MyBlogLog PageView

3. Disguise myself as a sexy vixen in forums, social media sites, etc…

Here are my thoughts on some pressing issues:

1. On credibility – Adam said that it might affect my credibility in the long run which I totally agree. But if this works and I get enormous traffic, I think that would be a higher priority

2. On blog ethics – There would be no ‘pornographic’ pictures on my blog, just sexy ones and comments are most welcome.

3. On creating a sustainable relationship with other blogs – I bet that this would be a hot topic to discuss as it’s general and it’s also basic knowledge.

Last but not least, I might fail miserably and here are some things that are at stake:

1. Credibility
2. Traffic
3. Reader’s loyalty
4. Friends or Foes
5. Heavy criticism

The bet is high and here are some comments on my previous post:

xBrain and Edward got huge success when they used a sexy picture as their MyBlogLog avatar.

Wayne Liew sees this as a huge gold mine while Adam thinks that it will hurt your credibility in the long run.

Preblogging on the other hand would like to ‘spice up’ her MyBlogLog profile.

What do you think?
